Biryani is a casserole Rice dish made with herbs, spices, ( rice, usually basmati) and meat or vegetables. Himalaya Gourmet Biryani is a favourite of our clientele, in particular for its flavour of mint and coriander leaves. Popularly made with chicken, lamb and vegetables. Serve it at pot luck and family suppers. A family pleaser.
HIMALAYA GOURMET BIRYANI SPICE MIX - MILD
Ingredients: Spices, tamarind, water, tomato paste, cider vinegar, canola oil, onion, coriander and mint leaves, ginger and garlic.
Directions: Brown 1/2 kg meat/vegetables cut into pieces. Add two tablespoons of Himalaya Gourmet Biryani Masala. Pour 1/2 cup of water and 1 cup of natural yogurt or sour cream. Simmer for 20 minutes. Add a little hot water during cooking only if required. Serve in layers of steamed rice (6 cups of steamed rice) and prepared meat. Garnish with slivered almonds, raisins and caramelized onions.
Each 250ml jar serves a total of 16 minimum portions.
