Butter Masala or Makhani Masala. The origins of butter chicken can be traced back to Delhi, during the period of Mughal Empire. Buttery texture and taste comes with the addition of sour cream or yogurt, almonds and cashews. HIMALAYA GOURMET BUTTER SPICE MIX- MILD
Ingredients: Spices, tamarind, water, tomato paste, cider vinegar, canola oil, ginger, garlic and herbs.
Directions: Combine 2 tablespoons of Himalaya Gourmet Butter Masala and 1 cup of natural yogurt or sour cream. Add half of the marinade to 1/2 kg chicken, fish or vegetables. Marinate for 20 minutes. Grill removing most of the marinade until well cooked. To the rest of the marinade, add one cup of water or stock. Add ½ cup of crushed almonds or cashews. Pour over grilled dish and bake five minutes longer. Add salt to taste. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot.
