Tandoori Chicken is a dish dating back to the time of the Mughal Empire in Central and Southern Asia. The chicken is marinated in yogurt, seasoned with garlic, ginger, cumin, cayenne pepper, and other spices depending on the recipe. Red chilli powder or other spices give the typical red colour. It is traditionally cooked at high temperatures in an earthen oven (i.e. tandoor), but can also be prepared on a modern grill. Tandoori chicken is often served with sliced onions and wedges of fresh lemon or lime. India's version of barbecued chicken.
Himalaya Gourmet Tandoori masala mix has no artificial colour and can be applied to fish, lamb, pork and of course chicken.
