GRILLED TANDORI SHRIMP SKEWERS

Great barbeque idea!

 

Ingredients:

 

• 24 shrimps, peeled and deveined

• 2 tbsp Himalaya Gourmet Tandoori Masala (paste)

• 1 onion, cut into wedges

• 12 cherry tomatoes

• 12 bamboo skewers, soaked

• 2 tablespoons melted butter

 

Method:

 

Combine shrimp, salt and Himalaya Gourmet Tandoori/Tikka Masala. Refrigerate and marinate about 1/2 hours. Skewer the shrimp, 3 to a skewer with 1 onion wedge and 1 cherry tomato. Preheat a grill on the highest setting. When grill is hot, add the skewers and lower heat to medium. Allow to cook on each side for about two minutes until grill marks are apparent and the shrimp become pink. Brush through cooking with more melted butter. Remove from grill when shrimps are cooked. Serve warm with rice or nan bread and lemon wedges.

 

Serves 4

TANDOORI CHICKEN

Ingredients:

 

  • 4 chicken thighs, skinless

  • 1 tbsp. Himalaya Gourmet Tandoori Masala (paste)

  • 1 tbsp. plain yogurt (optional)

  • 1 tbsp. vegetable oil

  • salt to taste

 

Method:

 

Make 2-inch long slashes across the chicken, about 2 slashes per piece.

Blend Himalaya Gourmet Tandoori paste, yogurt and salt in a bowl. Coat the chicken with the paste and marinate for 1/2 an hour or more in the refrigerator.

 

Preheat a grill on the highest setting. When grill is hot, add the chicken and lower heat to medium. Allow to cook on each side for about 7 minutes until grill marks are apparent. Halfway through cooking, brush with leftover marinade.

 

Remove from grill when chicken is cooked. Serve warm with steamed rice or flatbread and lemon wedges. Equally excellent with Himalaya Gourmet Tikka Masala.

  • 1 cup plain yogurt (optional)

  • 2 tbsps. vegetable oil

  • salt to taste

 

Method:
